Through this process, we actively support the worldwide transition toward plant-based solutions. Additionally, our subsidiary Averis is dedicated to developing proprietary potato varieties, further strengthening our value chain.

Job description
The account manager is responsible for managing current business in the food markets and business development at existing or new accounts. He/she provides solutions for the accounts and is able to develop direct sales and a trusted network. Secures the sales plan realization and implementation through acquiring and retaining new, potential and existing accounts and contracts and building and strengthening customer relations.

 The role is office or home-based, requiring 40-60% of travelling to be able to interact with key customers contacts, to enable business growth sales and to be able to align with internal stakeholders. In this role you will report to the Regional Sales Manager Food EMEA.

The Avebe team
You will be joining a dynamic and globally operating sales team. In addition to working closely with your sales manager, you will collaborate intensively with the technical team. Together, you aim to deliver the highest level of service to our customers in the Benelux region.

At Avebe, we value personal connection. That’s why we ensure you meet your international colleagues in person at least three times a year, in addition to regular virtual meetings.

 Responsibilities

  • Sales/account strategy for sales and new business development in the region and approved sales plan;
  • Monitors trends in business, market and customer requirements and potential clients, and delivers input to marketing, researchers and application specialists;
  • Closes deals and ensures the execution of sales, sales support and after-sales service (both technical and commercial) in the designated area;
  • Stimulates, develops and increases market demand for products and applications;
  • Contributes to the market introduction of new products and concepts;
  • Builds, maintains and expands a network of new and existing strategic external relations.
  • Reports on his/her activities to functional management – by using the available IT tools (e.g. CRM system).

 

Training & experience

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in food science or food technology;
  • Knowledge of the food ingredient market;
  • 2 to 5 years’ relevant sales experiences in the food-ingredients industry, with value-added products, services and innovation;
  • Well networked within the Food & Beverage community;
  • Comfortable working and travelling in an international business to business environment;
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, command of French is considered a plus
