Avebe began as 'Aardappelmeel Verkoop Bureau' in 1919, initially to improve sales for several independent potato starch cooperatives. Today, Avebe is a global leader in innovative potato-based ingredients: starches, proteins, fibers and granules for Food, Industrial and animal feed that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable world. As part of the Commerce and Innovation organization of Avebe the Marketing department is responsible for worldwide marketing strategy, marketing intelligence and digitalization and marketing communication, with a strong focus on customer-centricity and value creation

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Segment Marketing Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business.

Role
As Segment Marketing Manager, you own the strategic marketing roadmap for a specific market segment or customer group. You act as a business partner to Sales, Innovation, Strategic Marketing, and other departments, ensuring that customer needs are translated into impactful value propositions and growth. You ensure Avebe not only responds to market trends but actively shapes them.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Segment Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement the marketing strategy for your segment or customer group.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and translate long-term goals into actionable annual plans and regional initiatives.
  • Monitor performance and adapt plans to changing market dynamics.

Sales Partnership:

  • Define go-to-market strategies and provide commercial direction for segment growth.
  • Partner up with Sales with product launches, campaigns, and key account development.

Innovation & Value Proposition:

  • Together with Strategic Marketing and our project management office you co-lead the innovation pipeline for your segment, validating market needs and building business cases for new products.
  • Manage and monitor the launch of new solutions and value propositions.

Market & Customer Insights:

  • Analyse trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape for the assigned segment or customer group.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for growth and innovation.

Marketing Content & Campaigns:

  • Create segment-specific marketing materials, sales tools, and pitch presentations.
  • Represent Avebe at trade fairs and seminars, ensuring strong brand visibility and thought leadership.

Alignment & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and report on segment performance.

Education & Experience

    • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Interest, knowledge and experience in the food industry or in industrial markets such as construction or the packaging industry and/or demonstrable ability to quickly familiarize yourself with a market segment.
    • At least 7 years of experience in marketing, business development, or account management (B2B).
    • Strong commercial and customer-centric mindset.
    • Proven experience in innovation management and project leadership.
    • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
    • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and AI-driven analytics is a plus
